07/04 - The members of the EFFA would like to
wish everyone a Happy Independence Day. Although the
weather has been a bit rainy, please try to celebrate with us by
attending the EFFA Carnival 7/4 and 7/5 from 4PM-11PM.

Carnival
The mascot of the Friendship Fire Co in the late 1970's-early
1980's was Transfer the Dalmatian. She was always excited during
Street Fair/Carnival Week. If you'd like to find out why she

Carlisle Borough Auto
Accident
6/28 - E141, E45, and R40 were dispatched to 21 East Louther
St. in the 41-02 box for an auto accident at 18:56. Units
arrived to find a truck had struck two vehicles on North Hanover
St., then proceeded to East Louther St. and struck 5 more
vehicles. All injuries were minor and E45 went available
at 19:19.

Engine 45 Progress Report
6/28 - Members have been working diligently all week to
prepare the new Engine 45 for service. Under the direction
of Chief Mounter Boyce, personnel have been staining, mounting,
and loading as much as possible before carnival next week.
We are still waiting for some equipment to arrive, and have
scheduled the lettering for the week of July 7th.
Carlisle Boro Smoke in the
Building
6/23 - At 09:44 Co's 40, 41, 45, and 36 (Filling for R40)
were dispatched to Commerce Bank 65 Ashland Ave. in the 41-01
box for smoke in the building. Employees on the scene
advised that a light smoke odor was present in the bathroom.
Truck 45 setup to check the HVAC units on the roof. Units
found no conditions and cleared to handle an automatic fire
alarm at the Medical Arts Building at 10:03.

Hale Pump Training
06/22 - Chief 45 has announced that Hale will conduct pump
training for Engine 45 on July 10th and July 11th from
19:00-22:00. All drivers, mutual aid chiefs, and
prospective drivers are invited to this training. If you
have any questions, please contact Chief Boyce.
West Pennsboro House Fire
06/17 - At 19:37 Truck 45 was alerted along with Co's 46, 47,
and 48 for a house fire at 28 Watson Drive in the 46-04 box.
Truck 45 assisted with ventilation and overhaul. At 20:00, Air
45 was added to the box and setup a fill station. Co 45
units cleared at 21:44. Click

Engine 45 Arrives
06/16 - The new Sutphen Engine 45 was delivered to the
station this afternoon. Further updates on training and in
service information will be posted later.
Truck 45 Returns to Service
06/16 - On Saturday 06/14 Truck 45 transferred to Lower Allen
Station 2-12 while crews battled a three alarm fire at the
Radisson Penn Harris hotel in East Pennsboro Twp. After
returning to the station, personnel found the Truck had a
problem with the alternator. Truck 45 was placed out of
service until Monday when it was repaired by Guardian Fire
Equipment.
Carlisle Borough Trailer
Fire
06/13 - At 16:23 hours E141 and E45 were alerted to Giant
Foods 1621 Industrial Drive in the 41-03 box for a trailer fire.
Smoke was evident as units were responding on Ritner Highway.
E141 had a quick knockdown of the fire while E45 crews stood by
at a hydrant and prepared to lay in if needed. E45 crews
then assisted with overhaul operations. Units were
available at 17:03.

Middlesex House Fire
6/13 - At 14:06 hours today Truck 45 was alerted to a
basement fire at 3789 Spring Rd. in the 34-02 box. Truck
and Air 45 went responding with 6 personnel. Engine 45 was
added at 14:12 when 2nd alarm engines were requested.
Truck crews assisted with ventilation, salavage and overhaul.
Engine 45 dumped a load of water to assist the water supply
operation until another tanker could arrive. Air 45 filled seven
cylinders. Co 45 units were available at 15:08.

Carlisle Borough Crash
06/11 - At 18:34 hours, Co's 40, 41, and 45 were dispatched
to Franklin and B Sts. in the 45-01 box for an auto accident
with entrapment. Chief 3A arrived on the scene and
reported that no entrapment existed. E45 handled a fluid spill
and debris removal and went available at 19:10 hours.

Carlisle Borough Car Fire
06/09 - Engine Co's 41 and 45 were dispatched to 337 North
East Street for at car fire at 15:17 today. Units arrived to
find fire in the engine compartment. E141 and E45 cleared
the scene at 15:44.

New Kingstown W.A.C.K.E.R
Weekend
06/08 - Truck 45 assisted New Kingstown Fire Company with their
1st annual W.A.C.K.E.R Weekend. Co. 33 planned a complete
slate of activities Saturday and Sunday with the intent of
getting young folks interested in the fire service. The
kids seemed to enjoy learning about the tower and truck company
operations.

6/08 - On Wednesday June 4th, Chiefs 45, 145, 245, Borough
Chief Kennedy, and D/O Brenneman traveled to Sutphen to inspect
the new Engine 45. The engine is scheduled to be delivered
sometime late in the week of June 9th. More pictures
